In 1973, Blue Ridge Council and Piedmont Area
Council merged, creating the Blue Ridge Mountains Council. Prior
to the issue of CSP's Red & White Shoulder Patches were the
common patch found on a Scout's uniform. This patch designated
a Scout's Council or in some cases the community in which a Scout's
troop was based. The Blue Ridge, & Piedmont Area Red &
Whites were produced in significant numbers with minor variations.
The Blue Ridge Mountain Red & White was a single loom run
of approximately 500-600 patches.
